Patana Health Sciences Academy Directs Mandatory Rest for Resident Doctors After 24-Hour Duty

Kathmandu. Patan Health Sciences Academy has directed its department heads and program directors to ensure that resident doctors get adequate rest mandatorily after completing 24 hours of continuous duty. Based on the directives and letters from the Nepal Medical Council and the Medical Education Commission, the notice issued by Dean of the School of Medicine of the Academy, Dr. Ashish Shrestha, has requested the implementation of this arrangement. The Academy has been conducting competency-based medical education and, in line with this educational philosophy, has emphasized ensuring the competence, professional integrity, and learning opportunities of resident doctors.
