KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has unveiled the definitive voters' list for the upcoming by-election scheduled for April 27. The by-election is slated to take place in Ilam and Bajhang districts. Election results from less-populated rural municipalities start arriving

The results of Local Election 2022 held on Friday have started arriving from rural municipalities with fewer populations on Saturday. According to the result made public by Election Commission, Nepal, Konjo Tenzing Lama has been elected as the chairman of Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality of Manang district. Konjo, who represented Nepali Congress (NC), received 158 votes and won against Krishna Bahadur Lama, an independent candidate who received 111 votes. Mengmar Phuncho Lama of CPN-UML has been elected as the vice-chairman of Narpa Bhumi unopposed.

263 new voters added in Manang

KATHMANDU, Jan 8: A total of 263 new voters have been added in Manang during the voter registration campaign carried out by the Election Office, Manang at the local level. The office conducted a voter registration campaign in all three local levels of the district. Apart from that, voters’ details are also being collected from the Election Office and District Administration Office. In the first phase, the voter list was collected in Ngisyang Rural Municipality and Narpabhumi Municipality and in the second phase, the voter list was collected in Naso Municipality. Acting Chief Election Officer of the Election Office Manang, Ananta Subedi, shared that the highest number of voters has been added from Manang Ngisyang rural municipality. According to him, 28 voters have been added from the village municipality, 10 from Narpabhumi municipality and 25 from Naso municipality. The number of women added is higher. Similarly, 200 voters have been added from the District Election Office and the District Administration Office. "Registration details are being verified. If the name is repeated, it will be removed," he said.  The collected details will be verified and sent to the Election Commission.
