BAGMATI, May 20: Voting in the by-election to the National Assembly has begun. Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Dormani Poudel inaugurated voting by casting his vote at 9 am.
The polling centre is located at Bhutandevi Secondary School in Hetauda, Makawanpur district.
Separate voting booths have been managed for members of the Provincial Assembly, chiefs and deputy of local levels and Covid-19 infected voters.
The total 347 eligible voters will cast their ballot in the by-elections. Of them, 238 are from local levels and 109 are members of the Provincial Assembly.
KATHMANDU, May 20: CPN-UML leader and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal has lost the National Assembly by-election.
Thapa suffered the loss to Dr Khim Lal Devkota, the candidate fielded by an opposition alliance, in the by-election for the vacant post of National Assembly member from Bagmati Province, held on Thursday.
According to the final vote-count, Badal got 4014 votes while Khimlal got 5088 votes.
