BARDIA, May 25: A woman and her daughter were killed when a wild elephant fatally attacked them in Bardia on Monday night.
The mammoth that barged into the human settlement from the Bardia National Park attacked Chanda BK, 37, and her three-year-old daughter Dipika BK of Geruwa Rural Municipality from the same district at around 10 pm.
Mauled by the wild beast critically, the mother daughter duo was rushed to Nepalgunj Teaching Hospital at Kohalpur in Banke district where they breathed their last during the treatment, according to the Hospital.
The incident had taken place when the duo was sleeping in the courtyard of their house due to hot temperature.
