Kathmandu, January 6 — The government has increased the fare rates for public transportation.
The Department of Transport Management has announced a fare hike of up to 3 percent for passenger and cargo vehicles starting from Monday.
Passenger vehicle fares have been increased by 3.30 percent.
Additionally, cargo vehicles operating on mountain routes will see a 0.81 percent increase, while those on the Terai routes will experience a 0.05 percent fare hike.
This decision is expected to impact the fare structure for both passenger and cargo transportation, raising transportation costs.
