Two Chinese nationals arrested on human trafficking charge
The police have arrested two Chinese nationals on charge of involving in human trafficking. The arrestees have been accused of taking three Nepali citizens to Laos through Kathmandu, India and Thailand under the pretext of finding them job.
KATHMANDU, April 14: As many as 20 Chinese nationals were apprehended from Maharajgunj, Kathmandu on Saturday.
Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office and the Department of Immigration arrested 20 Chinese nationals from Maharajgunj, according to Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, Director General of the department.
It has been learnt that of the arrested Chinese people, some were staying in Nepal without visas. These people, who had entered Nepal with visit visas, are also found engaged in business.
The Department of Immigration will take further action against these people, according to SSP Basanta Kuwar.
KATHMANDU, Feb 22: As many as 36 Chinese nationals were arrested from Old Baneshwar, Kathmandu.
A team of police personnel of Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu arrested these Chinese nationals in the charge of involvement in illegal activities, according to SP Sudeep Giri.
“Further investigation into the case is underway,” Giri added.
