Google Maps launches Eco-Friendly Routes, Lite Navigation for Cyclists

Google Maps is introducing new features targeted at minimizing its customers' carbon footprint. These include environmentally friendly routing, light guidance for bikers, and bike and scooter sharing information, all of which can assist commuters in making greener choices. With eco-friendly routing, Google Maps will recommend routes that use the least amount of gasoline. The lite navigation function will provide cyclists with critical route information without requiring them to enter turn-by-turn navigation, which needs the screen to be turned on. On Google Maps, users can easily check nearby stations and how many cars are available at any one time using bike and scooter sharing information.
