KATHMANDU, Nov 22: Gagan Thapa, general secretary of the Nepali Congress has been elected the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Kathmandu-4.
Thapa stood victorious with 21,302 votes while his nearest contender Rajan Kumar Bhattarai of CPN-UML collected 13,855 votes.
KATHMANDU, Nov 22: Gagan Thapa, a House of Representatives (HoR) candidate of Nepali Congress, is inching towards the victory in Kathmandu-4.
Thapa is currently leading the vote count with more than 5,000 votes than his nearest contender.
As of Tuesday morning, as many as 38,525 votes have been counted. Of them, Thapa has garnered 19,014 votes while his nearest contender Rajan Bhattarai of CPN-UML has collected 13,027 votes.
Likewise, Dr Thakur Mohan Shrestha of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has got 3,118 votes while Archan Shumsher Rana has got 1,010 votes.
