Kathmandu District Court Extends Custody of Nepali Congress Leader Deepak Khadka by Seven Days

Kathmandu. The Kathmandu District Court has granted permission to keep Nepali Congress leader and former minister Deepak Khadka in custody for an additional seven days. A single bench of Judge Jagat Paudel issued the order for the seven-day extension.The Department of Money Laundering Investigation is currently probing Khadka in connection with a money laundering case. Previously, the Kathmandu District Court had already authorized a seven-day detention for investigation purposes.Khadka, who also served as the Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Sunday morning.
