KATHMANDU, May 23: Rajeshman Singh, mayoral candidate of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) backed by the ruling alliance, has secured victory in the recently held local level polls.
As many as 94,600 votes were casted in the metropolis. Of them, 80,786 votes have already been counted. At the time when only 14,000 votes remained to be counted, Singh is currently leading the vote count by a margin of 19,000 votes.
Singh has so far garnered 39,661 votes while his nearest contender Bijay Kymar Sarawagi of CPN-UML has collected 20,205 votes.
