KATHMANDU, March 28: A central committee meeting of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) kicked off at Sanepa on Monday afternoon.
“The meeting is likely to take a decision on coalition for the upcoming local level polls,” Prakash Sharan Mahat, spokesperson of the party, told Ratopati.
The meeting that began on Friday is scheduled to come to an end today after completion of the report presentation by central members. So far, as many as 60 central committee members presented their reports after visiting various districts.
The NC leaders shared different positions regarding the coalition in the next local level polls. Faction of the party-led by Prime Minister and President of the party, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has been stressing a need for coalition in the upcoming election while the faction of the party-led by leader Shekhar Koirala has been opposing it.
Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has also stood in favor of the coalition.
