Maoist Standing Committee underway, to discuss Nat'l Conference

KATHMANDU: A Standing Committee meeting of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) is underway at the Paris Danda-based party headquarters.  The meeting, which was scheduled for 11 AM, kicked off two hours later at 1 PM.  Thursday’s SC meeting will discuss preparations for the upcoming national conference of the party. The party is holding the national conference in the capital between December 26 and 28. “Similarly, the meeting will also dwell on the preparations for the forthcoming provincial conferences slated for Saturday,” said Ganesh Shah, a standing committee member.  As part of the national conferences, the party has accomplished ward-level and local unit-level conferences.  The meeting is also expected to discuss and sort out the issues regarding provincial structures as provisioned in the party statute.
