KATHMANDU, June 7: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has vowed to take action against police on charges of shooting the general public without orders.
Minister Khand in a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) directed the authorities concerned to take action against the police personnel who shot the public and initiate an investigation into the case.
Nabina Chaudhary was shot dead by police personnel at Madhuban Sona of Bardiya district on Monday while a group of protesters clashed with the security personnel.
The government has also formed a five member investigation committee under the leadership of Hari Ghimire, joint secretary at the Home Ministry.
Maintaining that the state doesn’t issue any sort of order to shoot the general public, Minister Khand stated that the government will make arrangements for treatment of injured people and provide compensation to the family members of the victim.
