KATHMANDU, June 11: Gandaki Province Chief Sita Kumari Poudel has called upon the members of the province assembly to stake claim for the new government formation as per the Article 168 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal.
After Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung lost a trust motion on Thursday, issuing a notice on Friday, Governor Poudel asked the members of the assembly to come up with the support of the majority within 24 hours --- 3 PM on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the opposition alliance comprising the Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Rastriya Janamorcha (RJM) is preparing to muster the support of the majority of assembly members and stake its claim for new government.
