DOTI, September 17: Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Government Trilochan Bhatta has vowed to end the compulsion of Nepali youths to go to India for seeking jobs.
At a programme organised by the CPN (Maoist Centre) in Silgadhi of Doti district on Thursday, Bhatta argued that the citizens from the far west districts would be made self-employed by ensuring them with collateral free loan.
“Now, the trend of going to India for jobs will end,” he added.
He was of the argument that no one will be jobless now as the Sudurpaschim Province Government has unveiled policy to give collateral free loan for different sectors including agriculture.
Bhatta also claimed that the longtime pending development works have got momentum in the province after the formation of the Province Government.
Similarly, he shared that the Province Government was working for the development touristic sites of the far west districts adding that activities are being carried out for the massive publicity of those sites.
He stated that publicity of touristic and religious sites including Khaptad and Badikedar is initiated while adding road expansion and other development works have been started.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Province Government was talking to the Federal Government to develop the much-hyped West Seti Hydropower Project. “We are talking to the Federal Government for the development of West Seti Hydropower Project as only the Province Government cannot construct this project. There will be massive changes in the development of the region after the development of the project,” he mentioned.
KANCHANPUR, September 7: Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Trilochan Bhatta, has said programmes would be launched in a planned manner to make the freed haliyas self-reliant.
Haliyas were the bonded labourers before 13 years.
On the occasion of the 13th Halaya Liberation Day on Monday, CM Bhatta assured that the freed haliya households would be provided income generating opportunities. He said it at a programme organized at Sita village of Punarbas Municipality-9 in the district. Preparation of necessary laws for this was finalized, the CM added.
Various schemes as rehabilitation, verification of records on haliya, career development and arrangement of concessional loan were being launched for the empowerment of haliyas.
He however said only law does not suffice, but the change in mindset to ensure equality. For the change, a common and collective struggle is imperative, according to CM Bhatta.
With the change in political system, the people have felt development, he asserted, adding that there was no need to reach the federal capital for running small-scale development projects. The Sudurpaschim government is the for the sake of poor people, he argued.
