Ruling coalition forms coordination committee in view of upcoming NA poll

KATHMANDU, Jan 6: The ruling coalition has decided to form a coordination committee for the publicity and management of the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election.  A meeting of a high-level mechanism of the ruling five parties took place at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar took a decision in this regard. CPN (Unified Socialist) general secretary Beduram Bhusal confirmed that the meeting discussed the upcoming election of the NA members scheduled for January 26 and form a province-level committee in all seven provinces with the representation of five political parties for the publicity of the event.  The ruling alliance has already filed joint candidacies for the elections. Similarly, the sitting also dwelt on the issues about the upcoming India visit of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. The meeting wishing for the success of the visit advised the Prime Minister to present the issues of Nepal’s nationality and public concern before India if time is appropriate for the same.  Moreover, the meeting discussed the progress in regard to the Nijgadh International Airport construction project.  Mechanism coordinator Ram Chandra Poudel, leaders Krishna Prasad Sitaula and  Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki represented the NC in the meeting while CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda, leader Narayankaji Shrestha and Finance Minister Janardan Sharma attended it on behalf of the party.   CPN ( Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal, senior leader Jhalanath Khanal, general secretary Bhusal, Janata Samajbadi Nepal’s Federal Council Chair Dr Baburam Bhattarai, party chair Upendra Yadav and Rastriya Janamorcha’s Vice Durga Poudel were among those present in the meeting.
