Light snowfall is likely in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces today due to the influence of the westerly low-pressure system, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Chapal Lama, a local of Tumkot, shared that up to four feet of snow has accumulated in Malimi, Muchul and other areas of Namkha Municipality. As a result, even the drinking water and the river water have frozen.
Usually busy with people, Simkot is now deserted due to extreme cold and snow.
Assistant Chief District Officer Dasharath Rai shared that daily life has been largely hit by the snowfall and cold.
