KATHMANDU, June 20: In a significant decision, the Supreme Court (SC) has mandated the removal of approximately 500 hotels and restaurants that were constructed through encroachments on the boundaries of Fewa Lake in Pokhara. The court has ruled that the area surrounding Fewa Lake should be maintained at a distance of 65 meters, prompting the demolition of all unlawfully built structures. The order has been directed to the federal government, Pokhara metropolis, and all relevant agencies.

Eating out has become a less costly affair for patrons in the country from Thursday as the Supreme Court prohibited hotels and restaurants from levying 10 per cent service tax in their bills.
KATHMANDU, April 20: Government has directed the hotels and restaurants to operate their services between 8 AM and 8 PM to avoid the further risk of the second wave of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country.
Issuing an order on Monday, the government said that the hotels and restaurants should provide only home delivery services 8PM onwards.
Similarly, those located along the national highways are required to provide services in shifts adhering to the public health standards.
