Province 1 Assembly meeting deferred until further notice
MORANG, March 14: A provincial assembly meeting of Province 1 has been deferred until further notice, the provincial assembly secretariat said on Sunday.
Baburam Gautam has been appointed Speaker for the Province Assembly (PA) of Province 1. He was elected unopposed as he was the lone candidate for the post. Gautam is a PA member of the CPN (Maoist Centre).
Hikmat Karki, the parliamentary party leader of the CPN-UML in Province 1 Assembly, is all set to get appointed the chief minister.

KATHMANDU, July 24: The meeting of Province 1 Provincial Assembly will be held today at 1 PM. The meeting of the Provincial Assembly was put off on July 3 until further notice.
BIRATNAGAR, June 25: A proposal seeking consideration for discussion on Province Appropriation Bill-2078 BS has been approved unanimously today.
Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Tanka Limbu had tabled the proposal in line with the Province Regulation 2074 Rules 118 (5) in the meeting.
The meeting held discussions on the appropriation bill related to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure.
Lawmakers Kul Prasad Sanwa, Kusum Kumari Shrestha, Jhalak Bahadur Magar and Ram Kumar Rai complained that the budget allocation was not propositional and justifiable under the ministry.
They however, said that, budget of 12.84 billion rupees was allocated in infrastructure sectors but the projects were selected on the basis of power and prejudice. They complained that the budget for some important projects was discontinued.
They said budget should be proportionally allocated in education and tourism sectors. The lawmakers argued that government was adopting discriminatory policy to the teachers in tourism service that should be corrected soon.
The Assembly will again meet at 12pm on Sunday
MORANG, June 3: Today’s meeting of Council of Ministers of Province 1 has decided to recommend for summoning the budget session of the Province Assembly on June 7.
The meeting held at the office of the Chief Minister decided to recommend before Province Chief for the same, said Spokesperson of the Province 1 government and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Hikmat Kumar Karki.
