Bhairahawa Customs collects only 51 per cent of revenue

With only two months left for the end of the current fiscal year, the Bhairahawa Customs Office has achieved only 51 per cent of its revenue collection target. The Department of Customs has set a revenue collection target of Rs. 127.83 billion for the Bhairahawa Customs Office for the current fiscal year. But by the end of 10 months of the current fiscal year, the customs office has collected a total of Rs. 65.90 billion revenue.

Lack of staff at Yari Naka Customs hampers work

There is a shortage of staff at the Yari Naka Customs Office near the border of Nepal and China. Due to the fact that the Department of Customs is not able to manage the staff according to the required posts, there is a shortage of staff and it affects daily works. Ramraj Jaisi, chief of the customs office, said that there is a problem in revenue collection due to the lack of sufficient staff in the office. He complained that due to the fact that he was the only employee, there was a problem to check goods and issue bills of goods in the office. He said that some goods were being sent out without customs clearance while he was engaged in issuing bills of the goods for customs clearance.

Biggest Birgunj customs collects Rs 40 billion in revenue in over two months

BIRGUNJ, September 29: The country's biggest Birgunj Customs Office has collected the total Rs 40.6 billion in revenue so far since the fiscal year, 2021/22 began on August 16.  The revenue collection is 20.5 percent of target Rs 198.1 billion to be collected in revenue for the FY, said the customs office officer Harihar Poudel.   Petroleum products, cooking gas, vehicles parts and food items, readymade clothing and raw materials for industries have been imported from India through the transit. On a daily basis, the transit saw incoming around 800 trucks laden with goods and outgoing around 100 goods loaded trucks.
