Japan's opposition bloc has further divided after efforts to build an effective opposition force to confront Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's popular government failed.The main opposition party announced its dissolution on Wednesday.The 'Centrist Reform Alliance' has decided to cease its political activities, party leader Junya Ogawa told a press conference. This marks the end of an eight-month effort to create an effective political alternative to Takaichi's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
