Remittance inflow drops by 6.8 percent

KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Remittance inflow has been constantly going down, a recent report unveiled by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) reveals.  According to the NRB report released on Thursday, remittance amounting Rs 388.58 billion was received in the first five months of the current fiscal year which began in mid-July.  The amount is 6.8 percent less than the inflow reported in the same period in the Fiscal Year 2020/21. Nepal reported an 11 percent rise in remittance inflow during the same five months in the last fiscal year.  The country also reported a fall in remittance inflow in US dollars.
