NC withdraws its claim in Pokhara Metropolitan City

KATHMANDU, April 19: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has withdrawn its claim for the post of mayor in Pokhara Metropolitan City in the upcoming local level polls. In the discussion with leaders of Gandaki Province, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday maintained that the post of mayor in Pokhara metropolis will be given to the CPN (Unified Socialist). PM Deuba was briefed about the status of the party and ruling alliance in Gandaki Province during the meeting. Currently, a meeting of the ruling alliance is underway to discuss electoral alliance between the coalition members for Metropolitan and Sub-Metropolitan Cities in Baluwatar.
