Chief of the Pokhara Municipal Corporation Man Bahadur GC discharged
Chief of the Pokhara Municipal Corporation Man Bahadur GC, who was admitted to the Neuro Hospital at Bansbari in Kathmandu for carnioplasty surgery, has been discharged from the hospital today.
The Pokhara Metropolitan City has presented its policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2021/22. Pokhara Mayor Man Bahadur GC presented it to the ninth municipal assembly on Wednesday.
According to the metropolis, the tabled policy document focuses on infrastructure, tourism and agriculture. It also seeks to continue with the old development projects. With regard to COVID-19 control, the city will focus on the management of quarantines and isolations, recruitment of manpower, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing and contact tracing. It will also provide risk allowance to frontline health workers, the document states.
The policies and programmes have also arranged for tax exemptions and relief packages for businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and have talked about introducing schemes targeting those returning from foreign employment.
The first National Conference of chairs/chiefs of local levels held in Pokhara. The conference organized by Pokhara Metropolitan City on April 13-14 has adopted a 16-point Pokhara declaration.
Pokhara Mayor Man Bahadur GC shared that the declaration was adopted reflecting the learning and challenges following the local level election held in 2018 and charting out future strategies with a plan of action.
He further shared that the conference-adopted declaration would be sent to all 753 local levels through email and finalized by incorporating inputs and recommendations by coming April 23.
The conference has come up with a commitment to create opportunities for mutual collaboration and coordination among the local levels towards realizing 'Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali'.
The declaration has also laid emphasis on implementing the policy and programmes to ensure quality life of citizens with self-respect and identity by prioritizing local development issues.
