KATHMANDU, October 11: Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has decided to postpone its 10th World Conference and the elections.
Earlier, NRNA was scheduled to hold its election on October 20 and World Conference from October 23 to 25.
The association took the decision to postpone the election and World Conference after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked the association not to conduct an election until the disputes regarding the selection of representatives are addressed.
According to the spokesperson of NRNA, DB Chettri, the World Conference of the association has been postopend and election will be held within next six months.
Earlier, Kul Acharya, a candidate for the post of President of NRNA, had lodged a complaint at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating that there is a dispute regarding the selection of representatives.
