Nepal-US relations to be further strengthened: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU, July 15: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the friendship and partnership between Nepal and the United States of America would be further strengthened during his new tenure. PM Deuba said this during a meeting with US Ambassador to Nepal, Randy Berry, at his residence this morning, the Prime Minister's Secretariat said. Matters relating to Nepal-US relations and cooperation, including medical support, were exchanged during the meeting.  The US ambassador had congratulated PM Deuba on Tuesday through social media. Nepali Congress president and parliamentary party leader Deuba took the oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday.

US Under Secretary of State Zeya calls on PM Deuba

KATHMANDU, May 22: A delegation led by United States Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, Uzra Zeya, held a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Sunday.  In the meeting held at the PM's official residence at Baluwatar, discussions were held on Nepal-US relations and various topics of mutual interest, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  PM Deuba on his part expressed happiness to welcome the US delegation. Under Secretary of State Zeya, who is also the Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues, arrived here on Friday in connection with a three-day visit to Nepal.

US Congress delegation calls on PM Deuba

The United States congressional delegation led by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday morning. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on various aspects of Nepal-US relations and cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) informed in a statement.

Nepal requests US for COVID-19 vaccine

KATHMNANDU, May 24: Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, minister of foreign affairs, had a telephone conversation with Wendy Sherman, US deputy Secretary of State, this morning.
