In recent days, consumers are witnessing a shortage of liquefied petroleum gas due to the halt in the import and distribution of fuel by entrepreneurs. The shortage of LP gas has been created in the market due to disagreement between the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and gas entrepreneurs. The gas entrepreneurs have stopped the import of cooking gas demanding the adjustment of the transportation fare of cooking gas as per the increase in diesel price, said Gokul Bhandari, former president of the Nepal LP Gas Industry Association.

NOC hikes fuel price, petrol to cost 150 per liter

KATHMANDU, March 4: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of fuels.  The price of petrol, diesel and kerosene has been increased by Rs. 5 per liter. With the updated price, petrol will cost Rs. 150 per liter while diesel and kerosene will cost Rs. 133 per liter. Likewise, the price of aviation fuel has been increased by Rs. 10 per liter in domestic consumption while it has been increased by 100 US per kilolitre for international flights. The price of LP gas or cooking gas however remains the same.

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of petroleum products.  Prices of diesel, petrol and kerosene have been increased by Rs 3 per liter while aviation fuel by Rs 5 (domestic) and USD 100 (international).  According to the new price adjustment list released by the state-owned trading enterprise that will come into operation at Wednesday midnight, diesel and kerosene will be sold for Rs 122 per liter each and petrol for Rs 139. Similarly, aviation fuel (domestic) fetches Rs 106 per liter and USD 995 (international).  However, the price of cooking gas has remained intact. “Nevertheless, the NOC is incurring losses worth over Rs 1.8 billion every fortnightly despite price increment in petroleum products,” said its spokesperson Binit Mani Upadhyay.

NOC hikes price of petroleum products again

KATHMANDU, April 17: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), a state owned trading enterprise that imports, stores and distributes petroleum products in the country, has hiked the price of petroleum products.  As per the new adjusted price list of petroleum products that will come into effect on Saturday midnight, the price of petrol has increased to Rs 121 per liter against the existing Rs 120. Likewise, the price of diesel and kerosene has been increased by Rs 1 per liter. Price of both diesel and kerosene has reached Rs 104 per liter. Price of aviation fuel on domestic routes has increased to Rs 76 per liter from Rs 74.  However, the price of cooking gas and aviation fuel on international routes has remained unchanged. The NOC has been incurring a loss of Rs 6.72 per liter on petrol, Rs 44 paisa on diesel and Rs 417.47 per cooking gas cylinder, according to NOC's spokesperson Binitmani Upadhyay. In total, it has been incurring a loss of Rs 810 million on the sale of petroleum products fortnightly. See NOC's statement below
