India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and New Space India Limited (NSIL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Saturday to provide grant assistance for the launch of Munal satellite of Nepal.
Nepal Telecommunications Authority has cancelled the process of launching its own satellite in orbit. The NTA, through a notice today, said the previous proposal had been cancelled so as to start a new process.
KATHMANDU, July 30: Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has canceled the process to procure its own satellite. Issuing a notice today, the NTA stated that the proposal for a satellite has been canceled and that priority has been given to new plans.
Nepal’s first nano-satellite, which was launched into the outer space on April 17, 2019, is going to collapse within a few months.
As per the current report, the satellite is gradually falling down and it’s assumed that it will fall sometime in August, said Dr. Rabindra Dhakal, Chief of Faculty of Technology at the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).
