Mother and Newborn Rescued by Helicopter from Rasuwa

Kathmandu. A 29-year-old Furpu Yamo Tamang of Gatleng, Amachhodingmo Rural Municipality-3, Rasuwa, and her newborn baby have been rescued by helicopter and brought to Kathmandu. The village was completely cut off from the transport network due to the flood in the Bhote Koshi River on August 26.After giving birth at the Gatleng health post, both mother and child developed serious health problems, and were immediately airlifted to Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital in Kathmandu, said Dawa Gomba Tamang, spokesperson for the rural municipality, to Ratopati.
