Kathmandu. Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said on Tuesday that ASEAN must review and strengthen its existing mechanisms to solve the problem of transboundary haze as the air quality in the Southeast Asian region continues to deteriorate. Addressing a press conference, Anwar urged ASEAN to take the haze problem seriously, stating that it directly affects public health and people's lives. He said that existing mechanisms should be implemented more effectively to take effective action against the sources of transboundary haze.
