Government Moves to Amend Bank Act to Allow Individuals with Warnings to Become Directors

Kathmandu. The government has moved forward with legal procedures to amend the Banks and Financial Institutions Act (BAFIA) to qualify individuals who have been warned or reprimanded as eligible to become directors of banks and financial institutions.Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle provided this information while speaking at a meeting of the Finance Committee on Monday.According to Minister Wagle, the existing provision in Section 18, Sub-section (1), Clause 'd' of BAFIA is being amended.
