Kathmandu. A preliminary 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred near Hachijo Island, about 280 kilometers south of Tokyo, Japan's meteorological agency said on Friday. Its tremor was also felt in Japan's capital, Tokyo.This earthquake occurred at around 9:02 PM local time at a depth of about 60 kilometers. The seismic intensity was measured at 7 on Miyake Island and 3 on Mikura Island, the Japan Science Agency said.The epicenter of the earthquake was located at 33.7 degrees North latitude and 140.5 degrees East longitude.No tsunami warning has been issued after the earthquake....
