The flood in the Bhote Koshi river in Rasuwa has caused the biggest damage in the history of Nepal's hydropower and energy sector.According to the 'Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment' report of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, the flood has caused physical damage worth NPR 151.445 billion (Rs. 15,104.45 crore or USD 997.13 million) in the hydropower sector alone.An initial assessment estimates that approximately NPR 390.623 billion (Rs. 39,062.30 crore or USD 2578.71 million) will be required for the reconstruction and recovery of the damaged hydropower projects and energy sector.
