Newly elected mayor, deputy mayor of KMC assume office

KATHMANDU, May 30: Balen Shah who was recently elected to the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) took an oath of office and secrecy and assumed his office on Monday. Chief Election Commissioner Raju Kathiwada administered an oath of office and secretary to Shah amid an event at the National Assembly Hall in Kathmandu. Similarly, newly elected deputy mayor Sunita Dangol, ward chairpersons and other members were also sworn in on the same day.

KATHMANDU, May 30: Newly elected mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), Balen Shah took an oath of office and secrecy on Monday. Chief Election Commissioner Raju Kathiwada administered an oath of office and secretary to Shah amid an event at the National Assembly Hall in Kathmandu.  Along with Shah, newly elected deputy mayor Sunita Dangol, ward chairpersons and other members were also sworn in.

KATHMANDU, May 16:  Balen Shah, an independent candidate for the post of the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City is currently leading the vote count as of 11 AM, Tuesday with 5,010 votes more than his nearest contender. Balne is leading the vote count with 10,797 votes. His nearest contender was Keshav Sthapit who garnered 5,787 votes. Likewise, Srijana Singh, Nepali Congress’s candidate for the post has collected 5,074 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 16:  Balen Shah, an independent candidate for the post of the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City is currently leading the vote count.  As of 2 PM, Monday, Balne was leading the vote count with 7,089 votes. His nearest contender was Keshav Sthapit who garnered 3,746 votes. Likewise, Srijana Singh, Nepali Congress’s candidate for the post has collected 3,300 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 15:  Balen Shah, an independent candidate for the post of the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City is currently leading the vote count.  As of Monday noon, Balne was leading the vote count with 6,016 votes. His nearest contender was Keshav Sthapit who garnered 3,141 votes. Likewise, Srijana Singh, Nepali Congress’s candidate for the post has collected 2,781 votes. Sunita Dangol, CPN-UML’s candidate for the post of deputy mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has garnered 5,173 votes while her nearest contender Rameshwar Shrestha, CPN (Unified Socialist)’s candidate has collected 1,690 votes.

Balne is leading the vote count with 5,692 votes as of 10 AM, Monday. His nearest contender was Keshav Sthapit who garnered 2,992 votes. Likewise, Srijana Singh, Nepali Congress’s candidate for the post has collected 2,657 votes. Sunita Dangol, CPN-UML’s candidate for the post of deputy mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has garnered 5,896 votes while her nearest contender Rameshwar Shrestha, CPN (Unified Socialist)’s candidate has collected 1,632 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 14: Balen Shah, an independent candidate for the post of the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City is currently leading the vote count. Balne is leading the vote count with 402 votes. His nearest contender was Keshav Sthapit who garnered 319 votes. Likewise, Srijana Singh, Nepali Congress’s candidate for the post has collected 202 votes. Similarly, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) got 53 votes and Bibeksheel Sajha Party collected 35 votes.

UPDATE: Balen Shah leading vote count in KMC

KATHMANDU, May 14: Balen Shah, an independent candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has taken the lead in the vote count in Kathmandu metropolis.  So far, Shah has garnered 297 votes, Srijana Singh, Nepali Congress’s candidate , collected147 and Keshav Sthapit, candidate of CPN-UML, got 192 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 13: Vote count of Kathmandu Metropolitan City  (KMC) is currently underway.  Srijana Singh, candidate of Nepali Congress representing the ruling alliance, Keshav Sthapit, candidate of CPN-UML and independent candidate Balen Shah are viewed as the top three candidates for the post of mayor of the metropolis. Sunita Dangol, candidate of CPN-UML and Rameshwar Shrestha, a common candidate of the ruling alliance,representing the CPN (Unified Socialist) are two top candidates vying for the post of deputy mayor of KMC.
