All-party meeting begins at Baluwatar, UML skips

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: An all-party meeting has begun at the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.  The meeting is expected to discuss a host of issues including ongoing parliamentary deadlock and ratification of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).  Leaders of all the political parties representing in the House except for the main opposition CPN-UML have joined the meeting, according to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s press aide, Govinda Pariyar.  Ahead of the all-party meeting, called by PM Deuba, five coalition partners --- Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Rastriya Janamorcha--- held a meeting.

Ruling alliance holds meeting at Baluwatar, discusses Cabinet expansion

KATHMANDU, August 30: The ruling alliance of five political parties are currently holding a meeting at the Prime Minister Office Residence at Baluwatar. The meeting is likely to discuss the expansion of the Council of Ministers, budget introduced through ordinance, appointments in constitutional councils, Jay Singh Dami incident, release of Resham Chaudhary among many others. The ruling alliance includes the Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (Maoist Center), CPN ( Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Rastriya Janamorcha Party. The meeting has been attended by Prime Minister and President of NC, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chairman of CPN ( Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of JSP, Upendra Yadav and Chairman of federal council of JSP, Dr Baburam Bhattarai among other leaders.
