He further said it also provides impetus to take forward the advocacy of ending discrimination and exploitation. Yadav thanked the Province Assembly members and political leaders for endorsing this name.
On the occasion, Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport, Renu Kumari Yadav, also said the dispute entrenched for long on naming the province has now ended. "We are proud of Madhes Province," she said, adding that it has well honored the martyrs of the Madhes movement.

The Madhes Province encompasses eight districts of southern plains in the eastern belt of Nepal.
Around 213,000 more voters have been registered in Province 2 under the voter's list with a photo updating campaign launched by the Election Commission in the recent period.
Of them, 38,344 voters were added in Dhanusha and 29,278 in Siraha. According to the Province Election Office, Janakpurdham, such a number of voters was added under the one-month campaign launched from December 3 to January 2 targeting the election.
The number of people from villages of Dhanusha visiting the Province Election Office of province 2, Janakpurdham to register their name along with photographs in voters list is increasing.
Information Officer Krishna Raut said that a large number of people used to gather to have their names enlisted in the voter's list in front of the office gate before office time.
Similarly, Chief of Province Election Office, Pushpa Jha, shared that around 600-700 people visit the office daily to register their name with photographs on the voter's list.
Jha added that the number of people registering their name along with photographs in the voter's list has increased as a campaign to collect voters' name list was not launched at the local level since long after the 2017 election, increasing the number of people returning from abroad as well as others.
Local representatives and political leaders are sending those people who missed the registration in the biometric voters’ list for getting their names registered. As Chief Jha said, people’s representatives and political parties are concerned about the registration of all eligible people in the voters’ name list in view of the upcoming election. It seems that they do not want any probable voter in their favor to be deprived of taking part in the election.
With the rise in the voters’ number, Dhanusha District Election Office has so far registered the details of 463,397 voters and earlier this number was 425,053. The registration campaign was organized in two phases.
Similarly, the District Election Office, Siraha says it so far records the registration of 406,972 voters. The registration campaign was organized at all 17 local levels in two rounds for a complete one month. In the 2018 local level election in Siraha, the number of voters was 332,894.
