Obstruction at landfill site cleared after seven-point agreement
The week-long obstruction to waste disposal by agitating locals of Kanani and Dhunibesi in Nuwakot ended after Kathmandu metropolis inked a seven-point agreement with the stakeholders.
Locals of Dhunbeshi municipality in Dhading and Kakani rural municipality in Nuwakot have told the Ministry of Urban Development that they will not allow the government to dump waste from Kathmandu on the newly constructed Bancharedanda landfill site in their jurisdiction.

KMC’s Department of Environment Chief Hari Kumar Shrestha told NepalNews that the Waste Management Division has already started collecting and carrying away the waste to the landfill sites.
