Naya Shakti Party to contest elections with election symbol ‘eye’
KATHMANDU, Oct 13: Naya Shakti Party Nepal (NSP-N) has said that it will contest the upcoming parliamentary and province elections under its own election symbol.
The Election Commission (EC) has arranged a ballot paper with a red election symbol on white background for the first-past-the-post (FPTP) election system to choose the House of Representatives and Province Assembly members in the upcoming elections.

Ruling coalition partner CPN (Maoist Centre)'s Standing Committee meeting has accepted the proposal of Bamdev Gautam to contest Nov 20 elections jointly under the MC's election symbol after Dr Baburam Bhattarai.
Maoist Centre spokesperson Mahara says the party has agreed to accept the leaders’ conditions for fighting elections under the party’s election symbol.
After Baburam Bhattarai, Bamdev Gautam is also using the CPN-Maoist Centre's election symbol (the hammer and sickle in a circle) during the House of Representatives elections in November.

KATHMANDU, April 13: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Nepal have agreed that the RPP Nepal will contest in local polls using UML’s election symbol.
The two parties have also maintained that if those RPP leaders contesting using UML’s election symbol win the election, they will still be in the RPP Nepal.
The two parties will also forge an election alliance in upcoming local elections scheduled on May 10.
The meeting held between the two parties on Wednesday was attended by Chairman of RPP Nepal, Kamal Thapa and Vice-Chairman of UML, Vishnu Poudel and General Secretary Shankar Pokharel.
KATHMANDU, March 18: The registration of candidacy for the upcoming local level elections has been scheduled for April 24 and 25.
"As per the election program of the commission, registration of candidacy will take place on April 24 and 25," said an official at the election commission.
The name list of the candidates will be published on April 28.
Those willing to withdraw their candidacy can do so from 5 pm to 6 pm on April 29.
The election symbol will be distributed on April 30, according to the commission.
