KATHMANDU, Sept 6: The government has decided to recruit as many as 115,000 temporary police to be mobilized during the upcoming election of the House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial level.
The Home Ministry on Monday approved the selection criteria and process according to which those willing to get recruited can file their applications from September 15 to September 22 later this month, according to DIG Tek Prasad Rai, the spokesperson for the Nepal Police.
The government has decided to provide a salary of Rs 41,960 to the temporary police to be recruited during the upcoming polls.
Apart from their salary, these temporary police personnel will also be provided a travel allowance of Rs 1,000 and Rs 6,000 for their uniform.
These temporary police personnel will serve the government during the election for 40 days.
During the local election, around 100,000 temporary police were hired out of over 200,000 applicants.
