One more succumbs to COVID-19 at Hetauda Hospital

HETAUDA, May 5: One more person died due to Corona Virus infection at Hetauda Hospital this morning. A 68-year-old man of Makawanpurgadhi rural municipality-5 in Makawanpur district died in course of treatment at Hetauda Hospital, said COVID In-Charge of the Hospital, Dr Sagar Kafle. The person had tested positive for Corona Virus on April 27 and was admitted to the hospital on April 28.  With this, the number of people died from Corona Virus at Hetauda Hospital has reached six, according to the Hospital.

Minister Khatiwada launches COVID-19 vaccination drive for children

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada has launched COVID-19 vaccination campaign for school children today.   Minister Khatiwada formally rolled out the vaccination campaign from the Hetauda Sub metropolis-based Bhutandevi Secondary School in Makwanpur.  Under the latest drive, children aged between 12 and 17 are being administered the US-made Moderna vaccines.  On the occasion, Khatiwada announced that no Nepali citizen would be deprived of COVID-19 vaccine, according to his press advisor Shantaram Bidari.  He said the campaign would continue until it covers all eligible children. It is said arrangements have been mostly made from the district level for the vaccination.  The government campaign to vaccinate children aged 12 to 17 kicked off in 57 districts of seven provinces on Sunday itself.  In the case of eight districts of three provinces, the campaign will be held on December 28-January 6, 2022 and the Pfizer vaccine will be given in those districts. They are Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavre, Sindhuli, and Chitwan in the Bagmati Province, Surkhet of Karnali Province and Dadeldhura of Sudur Paschim Province.   As per the government’s vaccination schedule, the second dose will be given from January 18 to 27, 2022.    A committee comprising the Chief District Officer and the local government head has been formed to establish the vaccination center within the school.  In schools having a smaller number of students, a center will be set up for two-three schools, it is said.

BAGMATI, July 7: Hetauda Cement Industry Limited, operated under full ownership of the government, located in Hetauda, might have to bear a huge financial loss due to unfavorable situation following COVID-19.  The Industry has made a preliminary estimate that it was incurring a loss of Rs 250 million in this fiscal year 2020/21. Earlier, the Industry had faced financial loss worth around Rs 250 million in the fiscal year 2019/20.   Officiating Manager (Finance) of the Industry, Ram Babu Shah, said that the Industry has been bearing a huge financial loss in lack of production of cement and its sale due to unfavourable situation following COVID-19 for the past two fiscal years continuously.  The Industry has to bear the financial loss due to decrease in its production and sale even in its main season.  Four months' period from April to July is the main season for selling cement. It has been bearing huge financial loss in many fiscal years except some fiscal years due to various reasons. General Manager of the Industry, Prem Shankar Singh, shared that old machinery technology, failing to compete with private cement industries are some reasons behind the huge financial loss.  The Industry makes around Rs 2 billion income annually and its expenses is more than the income. It has been found spending its largest amount in salary, management of raw materials and repair and maintenance sector.

Oxygen plant to be set up at Hetauda Hospital

KATHMANDU, May 22: Preparations are currently underway to build an oxygen plant at Hetauda Hospital in order to ease the treatment of COVID-19 patients in the district with the help of funding from private businesses and industries.

COVID treatment ward under operation

BAGMATI, April 25: A 'COVID treatment ward has come into operation in Hetuada, the capital of Bagmati province with the objective of supporting the treatment of the COVID-19 patients. The ward has been established at the Hetauda hospital under the provincial government. The ward will be used to provide treatment to the people who are in home based isolation following confirmation of the Corona Virus infection, and fall seriously ill. The ward has started with 10-beds and will be upgraded to 30-beds soon. The patients with high fever and blood oxygen measuring below 94 will be admitted to the ward.  Meanwhile, an isolation room has been re-established at Gauritar of Hetauda sub-metropolis-6. The isolation ward has been re-set up considering the increasing number of Corona Virus infections in Hetauda, according to the health unit of the Sub-metropolis.  The isolation ward currently has 15 beds. It will be upgraded as per the need. People who are confirmed positive and do not have facility to stay at home isolation will be kept at the isolation ward.

COVID-19 claims two in Hetauda and Birgunj

BAGMATI, April 21: An elderly person died from corona virus infection in Hetauda of Makawanpur district today. He is a 74-year-old male from Karra, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-4, the sub-metropolis's public health inspector, Bhola Chaulagain, said. The victim was in home isolation after contracting the virus. The risk of spread of coronavirus infection has increased in Hetauda of late as the city adjoins Bara and Parsa districts of the Tarai which have surging number of cases and due to the negligence of the general public in adopting health safety measures. Similarly, a 42-year-old Covid-19 patient died at Narayani Hospital of Birgunj in course of treatment. He is a resident of Malangawa, Sarlahi district. He was admitted to hospital on Tuesday after suffering from difficulty in respiration. The patient had tested positive to coronavirus through antigen test on the same day.
