KATHMANDU, June 29: An arrest warrant has been issued against Dinesh Maharjan, ward chairperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)-4.
The district court of Kathmandu issued the warrant to arrest Maharjan, Ex-chair of KMC-4 Mohan Bahadur Bista and ex-ward member Dhurba Prasad Triphati and present them to the court.
A complaint was filed accusing these people of forging fake government documents while Bista was the ward chairperson. At that time, Maharjan and Triphati were ward members.
Despite the court’s order, DSP Pramesh Bista of Maharajgunj Police Range, has shown unwillingness to arrest them.
MANANG, July 6: The ward chair of Naso rural municipality-5 in Manang died of cardiac arrest on Monday. The 50-year-old Chhiring Gyalpo Punel who had won the local election from the Nepali Congress seat was the Spokesperson for the local government as well. He breathed his last amidst the treatment at the District Hospital, Lamjung.
He suffered the heart attack as he was on the way to home from Kathmandu. The Ward Chair returned to Besisahar on Sunday from Kathmandu where he had gone for official works and was staying at a hotel where he collapsed all of a sudden on Monday.
According to Chandra Ghale, chairman of the rural municipality, the local representative was rushed to the District Hospital, Lamjung from the Besisahar-based hotel for treatment. The hospital received him at 10: 50 am and he died at around 12:00 noon, hospital administrator Hemant Shrestha said.
