Kathmandu, October 7 — Nabil Bank Limited and Smart Ideas Pvt. Ltd. (Hamro Patro) have reached an agreement for card-based remittance services. Today, Pradeep Nepal, the head of Nabil Bank, and Suraj Gautam, Senior Engineering Manager of Smart Ideas, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at an event. According to the agreement between the two companies, Nabil Bank has integrated the card-based remittance platform nRemit into the Hamro Patro app. Users of Hamro Patro outside Nepal can now access the app's 'Remittance' button to enter the details of the sender and receiver, along with the purpose of the remittance....

KATHMANDU, June 6: Nepal's ‘most popular application’ Hamro Patro has received more than Rs 100 million in remittances in a single month. Hamro Patro, which has been providing various services through the same app, introduced this feature among the users only seven months ago. Shankar Uprety, the CEO of Hamro Patro Inc., sharing his appreciation for the users said “We have received stronger encouragement from our users to continue our work. I want to deeply thank our users for their trust in us. Our goal has been to allow Nepalese to send money home reliably at the lowest cost possible and in the easiest way. We will also soon be launching an ‘Instant Transfer’ feature, through which users will be quickly able to deposit cash into bank accounts or a mobile wallet.” As well as starting and building its remittance service, Hamro Patro has also offered users exciting discounts. First-time users are able to send remittances to Nepal freely for up to three transfers. Hamro Patro app is setting new records among Nepali apps each and every day. Recently, the app reached the milestone of having 1.7 million daily and 11 million monthly active users. The app crossed the 10 million download threshold on the app store last year. The app launched with the Nepali calendar and date conversion feature in 2010 on the iOS store and in 2012 on the Play Store.
