KATHMANDU: Khagaraj Adhikari, the CPN-UML's parliamentary party leader, assumes the role of Chief Minister for Gandaki Province.
Adhikari secured support from 31 lawmakers, including 22 from CPN-UML, eight from the Maoist Center (including the Speaker), and Independent lawmaker Deepak Manange.
His appointment by Province Chief Dilli Raj Bhatta aligns with Article 168(2) of Nepal's Constitution.
Of the 60 provincial assembly members, Nepali Congress holds 27 seats, while the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) holds two.
Adhikari is schedule to take an oath of office and secrecy at 3 PM today.
