NC’s ward convention put off in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, September 2: The Nepali Congress (NC) convention has not been ascertained in some districts, including federal capital Kathmandu when only a day is to go for its pre-scheduled ward convention.  The list of active members has not been disclosed in some districts, including Kathmandu as of now. The uncertainty of convention is looming large for no disclosure of active member base. It is also because the Election Committee has not made public any statement whether or not to hold election in the districts having not disclosed the active membership base.  Committee Coordinator Mahadev Yadav said the party central office has so far provided the details of active members of 56 districts to the committee and the committee made disclosure of the base accordingly. Details of member base of 21 districts have not been made available to the committee yet, he added.  Among the 21 districts are capital Kathmandu, Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, 8 districts of province-2 and Dolpa. Election officers have been deputed in all 56 districts as part of the preparation to conduct ward election from September 3, Yadav informed.  He further shared that the committee is well prepared to depute election officers in the concerned district within two hours the party provides the details of active members.
