Srijana Singh, a mayoral candidate of Nepali Congress, is backed by the ruling alliance including CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party and Rastriya Janamorcha Party. Keshav Sthapit is a mayoral candidate representing the main opposition party, the CPN-UML. However, Balen Shah seems unstoppable in the race for the post of mayor of KMC’s mayor.

KATHMANDU, May 14: Independent candidate for the post of mayor Balen Shah is currently leading the vote count in Kathmandu metropolis. Shah has so far garnered 52 votes followed by Keshav Sthapit, UML candidate and Srijana Singh, Nepali Congress’s candidate, with 41. Votes casted in ward 1 and 32 of Kathmandu metropolis are currently being counted.

KATHMANDU, May 14: Balen Shah, an independent candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has taken the lead in the vote count in Kathmandu metropolis. So far, Shah has garnered 297 votes, Srijana Singh, Nepali Congress’s candidate , collected147 and Keshav Sthapit, candidate of CPN-UML, got 192 votes.
