KATHMANDU, November 11: National Population Census, 2021 has formally begun from Thursday taking data of President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s family members.
The 12th National Population Census began today and will be held till November 25 with the slogan ‘My census, my participation’.
Nepal has been conducting its national population census every 10 years.
The government has deployed as many as 39,000 numerators and 8,500 numerator workplaces across the country.
Every individual will be asked 80 questions as a part of the National Population Census. It has been assumed that it will take around 20 minutes for a numerator to collect data about a family. “In this regard, a numerator will have to collect data of 12 families in a day,” said Nabin Lal Shrestha, Director General of Central Bureau of Statistics.
The Census kicked off formally, taking data from family members of the President, Vice-President and Prime Minister.
Likewise in the local levels, the Cenus will begin taking data of family members of chiefs of local units.
