Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has said that menstruation is a sign of a woman’s motherhood. Addressing an awareness generating bicycler rally organised by the Expose Nepal on the occasion of the Menstrual Hygiene Day (MHD) on Saturday, Minister Bhusal said that biological process of women should be respected. “Menstruation is a pride, it is not a sin or crime. All the three tiers of government should work together for creating a situation in which women could live a dignified life. They must ensure that women are using clean, hygienic and reusable sanitary pads during menstruation,” Minister Bhusal said.
Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar has been roped in by UNICEF for the occasion of World Menstrual Hygiene Day to spread awareness on the burning issue of menstrual hygiene in our country.
