KATHMANDU, Jan 7: At the time when the Omicron variant of COVID-19 is spreading across the country, the new cases of COVID-19 is rising across the country once again including the Kathmandu Valley, where lies the federal capital of the country.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), as many as 369 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the Kathmandu Valley alone on Friday. Of them, 274 were detected in Kathmandu, 62 in Lalitpur and 23 in Bhaktapur districts.
Likewise, Morang recorded 29 new cases of COVID-19, Chitwan recorded 20, Kaski recorded 13 and Dang recorded 15 new cases today.
Likewise, Nepal detected 968 new cases of COVID-19 on the same day. According to MoHP, of 14,971 tests conducted, 572 cases turned out to be positive through the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and 396 through antigen tests.
