12 JSP cadres held for waving black flag at UML Chair KP Oli in Janakpur

KATHMANDU: As many as 12 cadres of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) have been arrested for waving black flags at CPN UML Chair KP Sharma Oli. JSP cadres had waved black flags to the UML chair in Janakpur on Saturday. Oli reached Janakpur today to welcome some leaders of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) into the UML.

UML-JSP: Agree to share 16 seats each in Madesh Province

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Of the 32 seats in the Madesh Province, the CPN-UML and the Janata Samjbadi Party (JSP) have agreed to share 16 seats each in the upcoming general elections, a UML leader told Ratopati. Likewise, the UML has decided to support the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)  in Jhapa-3 while the RPP has decided to support the UML in Jhapa-5. “We won’t be sharing many seats with RPP. So far we have agreed to join hands with RPP for a maximum of six seats,” a leader close to KP Oli told Ratopati. 12 JSP cadres arrested for displaying black flags to KP Oli

KATHMANDU, Sept 24: As many as 12 cadres of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) were arrested on charge of displaying black flags to KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of CPN-UML. It has been learnt that these people waved black flags to Oli on Saturday at Janakpur Airport.  Oli was in Janakpur to welcome some leaders of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party to CPN-UML.

KP Oli re-sworn in as Prime Minister, no change made in Cabinet

KATHMANDU, May 14: KP Sharma Oli has been sworn in as the Prime Minister for the third stint in the office.  President Biday Devi Bhandari administered an oath of office and secrecy to  CPN-UML Chairman Oli four days after the latter lost a confidence motion at the House of Representatives (HoR).  PM Oli, will now have to secure a vote of confidence at the lower house of parliament before June 12 as per Article 76 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal.  Oli had previously served as prime minister from October 11, 2015 to August 3, 2016. His second term was from February 15, 2018 after the left alliance won the 2017 parliamentary elections to May 13, 2021.  No new face in Cabinet PM Oli gave continuity to all the Cabinet members who were part of his government before he lost the trust motion. The leaders, who were close to UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and the Mahantha Thakur-faction of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP)reportedly refused to join the Oli-led Cabinet.
