KATHMANDU: Top leaders of major political parties have joined the inaugural session of the 14th General Convention of the ruling Nepali Congress being held at Bhrikuti Mandap in the capital.
Former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, another ex PM and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal and newly elected Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Rajendra Lingden are among those present in the opening ceremony of ruling party’s national jamboree.
Similarly, Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Chair Upendra Yadav, Chairman of Democratic Socialist Party (DSP) Mahantha Thakur, General Secretary of CPN (ML) and vice-chair of Rashtriya Janamorcha, Durga Poudel have also joined the stage.
CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli reached the venue a while ago an hour later than other leaders.
Meanwhile, delegates of various political parties from the friendly nations are seen on the stage.
